// ]]> // North Charleston, SC – The mother of two children killed in a house fire has been charged in their deaths. The fire happened back in August and investigators say the children were alone when the fire started. A month after Amy Robinson watched her home go up in flames, she finds herself behind bars.

“All I can do is cry,” Robinson said on August 25, a day after her two children died in that blaze. “I can’t believe it happened.” Authorities arrested Robinson Friday night after a long investigation into what caused the fire inside her North Charleston mobile home.

They say two of Robinson’s three children, two year-old Anthony, three month old Tatyanna died in the blaze. The third child, four year-old Savannah was the only survivor.

“Whenever I tried to get them out and opened the doors, it started up more and more,” Robinson said the day after the fire. Robinson originally told investigators she was inside the bathroom when the fire started and was able to get her oldest daughter outside.

She said she had to leave the other two children behind. She also stated that fire began after one of the children knocked a lamp onto the bed. Investigators say Robinson was not in the mobile home at all and the children were playing with lighters.

Robinson’s surviving child Savannah told investigators her younger brother lit the bed on fire. Emergency crews found Anthony underneath a bed and Tatyanna in another room.

Robinson is charged with two counts of homicide by child abuse and one count of unlawful conduct towards a child.

The judge denied bond on the homicide by child abuse charges.

Bond was set at $25,000 on the other charge.

A Department of Social Services representative requested that Robinson not have contact with four year-old Savannah. The judge approved that request.

Robinson’s boyfriend and the father of the youngest child, Tatyanna, was in the courtroom and says he supports her and never thought Amy was to blame for the children’s deaths.

Police became suspicious of Robinson because she did not have any scratches or burns after the fire.
